Das Model: A Monolithic Wall of Sound

The Das Model is a meticulously engineered "pre-amp in a box" designed to recreate the devastating, bone-rattling saturation of a vintage Sunn Model T amplifier pushed to its absolute breaking point. 

The Anatomy of Das Model

The Das Model pedal is essentially a three-in-one sonic powerhouse, combining a classic distortion circuit, an analog octave-up, and a discrete MOSFET booster.

1. The Distortion: At its core, the distortion section is a tribute to the "White Face" ProCo RAT, but with significant upgrades. It offers three distinct clipping modes via a toggle switch. The Symmetrical Silicon mode provides the classic compressed crunch, while the Asymmetrical Silicon/LED mode offers a more open, crunchy response. In contrast, the OpAmp mode bypasses the diodes entirely for a massive, clean-ish volume blast that punishes the front end of an amplifier.
2. The Octave: The analog octave-up is blended into the distortion circuit. It does not track like a digital synth. Instead, it provides a gritty, shifting harmonic layer. This effect screams during leads. Furthermore, it adds a "scorched" edge to low-end power chords.
3. The Booster: Positioned at the very end of the signal chain, this MOSFET booster provides a clean, transparent volume lift that either drives your tubes into natural compression or makes your entire rig feel twice as large.
